Last Tuesday, I had an errand to run on SE Foster and decided to take a walk up the street and photograph whatever caught my eye. Foster feels like it’s in a transitional period, a lot like Division did about a decade ago. There’s still a lot of “Old Portland” going on — dive bars, diners, industrial buildings — but also signs of gentrification, like a new 5-over-1 apartment building with a board game cafe on the first floor.
